Let’s help each other out. Everyone has at least one thing that they have discovered that has made their life easier. Share yours in this Forum. We will choose one tip each month from those posted in the Sharing Tips Thread to print in the New Family Post. I’ll get things rolling with a kitchen tip:

Cleaning burnt pots can be more than a workout. It can be down right exhausting, not to mention frustrating. When your kids are learning how to cook, burnt pans are inevitable. Here is an easy way to clean them without having to scrub until your arm feels like a limp noodle:

Fill the pot with about 2 inches of water. Put the pot on the stove and sprinkle the burnt areas liberally with baking soda. Bring the water to a boil. Continue to boil. Make sure that the water doesn’t all boil away. You will start to see burnt pieces floating in the water. When the water has lots of burnt pieces floating around, remove the pot from the stove and let it cool down. Wipe the pot out with a damp sponge or scrub brush to see how clean it is. If it’s not completely clean, repeat the process until it is.
