<p><span class="full-image-float-left ssNonEditable"><span><img src="http://www.newfamilypost.org/storage/bts-2009-post/graphics/hummus.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1253497181953" alt="" /></span></span>Hummus makes a great after-school snack.&nbsp; It has lots of protein and calcium without any cholesterol or saturated fat.&nbsp; Hummus is high in fiber and its garbanzos can act as a pick-me-up by helping to replenish iron stores.&nbsp; When you eat hummus with fresh vegetables, the nutrition content of your meal increases. &nbsp;<br /><br />My first experience with hummus was at a wonderful Armenian restaurant run by a delightful woman named Salpy.&nbsp; I had never tasted anything like it before.</p>
