Women of Worth (WOW) is holding their 7th annual backpack and school supply drive – Way Cool Back to School – through August 19,  for schools and students pre-school to college in need. WOW collects & distributes new back packs, school supplies and clothing to children in need within Nevada County and North Placer Counties.  Due to the current economic downtown, WOW is seeing a greater need than ever.

For many students, this school year will find them without the necessary school supplies or clothing needed to be productive students.  Having the essential school supplies and something new to wear during the peer pressure-filled years of school can greatly improve a young person’s self-esteem.  Your donation of sturdy new backpacks, laptop packs, printer paper, school supplies, lunch packs/bags, classroom supplies and playground items will help people in need.  WOW also needs money donations and gift certificates to local stores to purchase shoes, clothing,  PE & sport uniforms.

Teachers, counselors and others who know of a student in need are encouraged to contact WOW with their referrals.  All referrals are screened and confidentiality will be strictly maintained.
